Players from Westbury’s Junior Rugby team were invited to join Bath Rugby at their prestigious training ground, Farleigh House, on Friday 12th April to watch them train.
The young rugby players, along with teammates from Warminster, have had a season to remember getting the opportunity to play twice at Bath Rugby’s home ground, The Rec and attending The Clash, a derby match at Twickenham between Bath Rugby and Bristol Bears.
However, a third game at the Rec was cancelled and through trying to reschedule, the young boys were invited to watch Bath’s first team train at Farleigh House alongside a team from Chippenham.
Warminster and Westbury Juniors invited for the once-in-a-lifetime trip were Rhys Hames, Louis Hames, Sebastian Phibben, Ryan Tate, Ben Saving, Mason Thomas and Harry Gray.
They were able to meet players in the first team such as Tom Dunn, Jamie Roberts, Taulupe Faletau, Joe Cokanasiga, Sam Underhill and more, as well as the coach Todd Blackadder and have rugby balls and shirts signed.
If you have a child aged from under 6 to 11 and interested in them joining the Warminster and Westbury Junior Rugby Club or are wanting to volunteer your time on a Sunday to help the club, contact them on Facebook or call Luke Hames on 01373 866686.
