A new drip stand for a chemotherapy mobile unit has been bought after fundraising by the Co-operative Funeral Care and the White Horse Health Centre raised over £400.
The mobile unit is situated in the White Horse Health Centre car park every Wednesday and is run by the charity Hope for Tomorrow.
Catherine Wade, Regional Fundraiser for Hope For Tomorrow said, “We are extremely grateful for the Co-operative Funeral Care support in Westbury. Through monthly cake sales at the White Horse Health Centre, together with staff from the health centre, they have raised a wonderful sum of £408.27 enabling us to replace one of the Chemotherapy Drip Stands on board the unit.
“The South Wiltshire unit – nicknamed Kayleigh – was launched in 2012 and treats patients closer to home in Westbury as well as Gillingham, Ludgershall and Fordingbridge to save them the journey to Salisbury District Hospital.
“Anyone wishing to support our appeal for support in keeping Kayleigh on the road for cancer patients should contact catherinewade@hopefortomorrow.org.uk ”
Michelle Meadows, Funeral Co-ordinators for The Southern Co-operative Funeralcare in Westbury said, “At The Southern Co-operative Funeralcare in Westbury, supporting those who live in our community is extremely important to us. When we heard that Hope for Tomorrow was in need of a new drip stand, we were inspired to fundraise the money to help all of the people in Westbury who rely on the mobile chemotherapy unit for their recovery against such a horrible illness.”
