A local nursery is now welcoming two-year-olds to enrol this summer.
Little Crickets Nursery at Springmead School in Beckington says the decision comes after careful consideration and reflects their commitment to fostering children’s development from the very beginning.
“Our nursery provides the very best experience inside and outside,” says Shirley Offer, deputy headteacher and nursery manager. “We are a small rural nursery, within an independent school, in a beautiful village location meaning we are out and about exploring!
“Here’s why starting nursery at two is a fantastic opportunity for little ones:
“A head start on social skills: Nursery provides a safe space for children to connect with peers, fostering empathy and understanding. Through playtime and interaction, they’ll learn to share, take turns, and build friendships skills that become invaluable throughout their lives.
“Nurturing emotional intelligence: Being around other children allows little ones to navigate emotions in a supportive setting. They’ll learn to express themselves effectively, manage their feelings, and develop a sense of belonging within a caring community.
“Building confidence through exploration: Our age-appropriate curriculum is designed to spark curiosity and a love for learning. Two-year-olds are naturally curious explorers, and our nursery provides a safe and stimulating environment where they can experiment, discover, and build confidence in their abilities.
“Language development flourishes: Nursery exposes children to a rich tapestry of language. Through songs, stories, and everyday interactions with teachers and peers, their vocabulary expands, their communication skills strengthen, and they begin to become effective communicators.
“We understand that starting nursery can be a big step for children and their parents. We offer smaller group sizes for younger children, ensuring each child receives personalised attention and feels secure in their surroundings.
“Our experienced and highly qualified staff are passionate about early childhood development and will provide a nurturing environment that fosters children’s social, emotional, and cognitive growth.
“We arrange early years funding on your behalf from the age of two and are happy to talk through this process with you.
“We encourage you to arrange a visit to discuss any questions you may have about our new early starter program. We’re confident that your child will thrive in our stimulating and supportive environment.”
