A Westbury care company has been awarded its first ‘Investors in People’ accreditation after three years of working in Wiltshire.
Butterfly, owned by local couple Anne and Eric Pelling, welcomed the Investors in People team into their premises in Wessex House, Westbury and also Upper Bloomfield Road, Odd Down, Bath as they were assessed for the prestigious accolade.
Anne said, “We’ve been wanting to be part of this process for a long time and this year we knew we were ready.
“Being part of a sector which can attract negative publicity, we wanted to show our passion and dedication not only to our clients but also to our own staff.
“We know we provide excellent care to people in their own homes and we achieve that by investing in and valuing our team. We hope to continue working towards the next levels in the Investors In People programme.”
Anne and Eric, co-founders and directors of Butterfly (registered name Erian Ltd), believe in the continuous professional development of staff.
The Investors In People team said, “People believe Erian Ltd is a great place to work. They believe the organisation has inspiring leaders who encourage a culture of open and honest communication. There is a strong sense of family and team. It is also clear all staff have an awareness of the organisation’s overall objectives and how they contribute to achieving these.”
Eric said, “We were thrilled with the comments which came back from the assessment team. However we’re not complacent, we want to improve and develop as our business grows.”
Investors in People is a standard to measure the best organisations and businesses for people management and development.
It has been established for 25 years and is recognised globally. There are various levels of assessment, and more than 14,000 organisations have achieved accreditation.
Butterfly was set up eight years ago by Anne who had a long and distinguished career as a carer. The company has built an enviable reputation for best practice in home care.
Today the team employs more than 70 staff working across Wiltshire, Bath and Somerset, providing care at all levels for those wishing to remain independent in their own homes. For further information visit www.butterflyhomehelp.com
