A NEW children’s climbing unit will be installed in Vivash Park to enhance the facilities at the park and offer a new space for children to play.
Westbury Town Council has approved the plans which will see a multi-play unit with a climbing frame, shelter and slide installed near the picnic benches within the park to allow families to play and enjoy the space.
Cllr Mike Sutton said, “Since assuming ownership of Vivash Park Westbury Town Council has continued to make improvements whilst ensuring that it remains essentially an environmental oasis where nature can be enjoyed or studied. Management of the flora has been designed to keep it as natural as possible whilst providing a pleasant area for dog walkers or those just enjoying the natural world, whilst recognising the need to keep the area as natural as possible it was felt that there was a need to allow for activity and exercise. The MUGA (Multi User Games Area) nearing completion in Grassacres Park is being well received and we are sure that users of Vivash Park will get similar enjoyment. Whilst we continue to manage the park as an oasis of green in an increasingly urban environment, we are providing an activity for those who wish to be more energetic.”
The council approved the plans at full council meeting last month.
