PAIGE’S Paws has won this year’s Christmas window competition with their festive four-legged friend-themed shop window display.
11 businesses around the town centre entered into the competition but it was Paige’s Paws who was crowned the winner and received the £30 prize.
“I was shocked to hear I won considering just how high the competition was this year, but I’m very happy with the result”, said Paige McSorley from Paige’s Paws. “I really like this competition as it helps highlights some of the smaller businesses in the town and give everyone an excuse to get creative.”
Westbury mayor, cllr Mike Sutton, praised the standard of this year’s entries. “I would like to thank all those businesses in Westbury who have contributed to the festive season by their wonderful window displays,” he said. “The hard work and thought that goes into each display is greatly appreciated by all concerned.
“This year the standard was very high with some new additions. Although we award a small prize for the display selected, in reality everyone is a winner, and the town greatly benefits from the colourful displays and creativity of all those who took part. A town council can only do so much, and it is the people who ultimately make a town and Westbury is fortunate in that respect.”
The competition also saw entries from Cards Plus, The Little Boutique, The Flower Hive, Periwinkles Parlour, Not Just Brides, Maristow Chiropractic Clinic, Taylored Beauty Clinic, Miles Apart, Sue Ryder, The Hair Company Westbury, and the Westbury Library.
