A POPULAR annual breakfast event in Bratton went ahead last month despite restrictions due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
88 breakfasts were served up on Saturdays and Sundays throughout August at the community centre, thanks to significant efforts by the Jubilee Hall management committee members and volunteers.
Based on guidance provided by the Action with Communities in Rural England (ACRE), the committee carried out a careful risk assessment and introduced a number of changes, including staggered bookings and social distancing, enabling the event to go ahead.
Hilary Chase, committee secretary, told White Horse News, “Understandably the numbers were down slightly on previous years, but we still served up 88 breakfasts and the management committee would like to say a big thank you to those who came along. It was great to see our regulars and a few new faces.
“However don’t despair if you missed out as the committee has decided to serve breakfasts on the first Sunday of every month during 2020, starting on October 1st.”
So, if anyone fancies a delicious, leisurely three-course breakfast served to their table for £7 (children under 12, £4) they should put the Sunday dates in their diary! Booking is essential and can be made up to 6pm the night before (space permitting) – please contact Esther on 07792 126655.
Hilary said, “We look forward to welcoming you.”
