COMMUNITY notice boards are to be set up in the new housing developments in Westbury in a bid to strengthen connections between the council and residents.
The notice boards will display all local information, including upcoming events and information relating to the goings on in the town.
Mayor cllr Sheila Kimmins said at the recent town council highways, planning & development meeting, “When cllr Mike Naxton was helping with a survey of the Spinnaker estate it was very apparent that the new estates know nothing about Westbury and what goes on. Cllr Naxton contacted Linden Homes and asked if they would fund a notice board and they were happy to oblige.”
The town council will initially take on responsibility for updating the boards but are hoping to identify community volunteers to take this on in the future.
