WESTBURY Town Council is looking for a new town crier, after Sean Price, crier for 20 years, retired recently.
Town clerk Deborah Urch said, “Our town crier has retired and we are looking for someone who feels they could fulfil the role.
“Costume is provided and the successful applicant will receive an Annual Honorarium of £500.
“Due to the nature of the role the applicant must be flexible and be available some evenings and weekends.”
The town crier represents Westbury at a number of events throughout the year.
Award-winning retiring crier Sean said, “It really is an amazing role and I can’t believe how much it changed me as a character. It’s built my confidence so much. For the right person who is passionate about the job it could be a fantastic experience.”
