A COUNCILLOR has resigned from Westbury Town Council, saying he no longer wants to work under the current mayor on a council which “has become like a headless chicken.”
Bill Braid joined the council in 1999, and served as mayor from 2002-2003.
Bill Braid said, “I have found it necessary to resign from Westbury Town Council after serving them (I believe) faithfully since May 1999. To put it bluntly, it is no longer the Westbury Town Council but is the Sue Ezra Town Council which has become like a headless chicken with no clear direction.
“As councillors we are supposed to be working for the greater good of Westbury and not to boost our own ego or personal agenda. Also we are supposed to work within the rules and standing orders of the council.”
