In a service at All Saints Church Westbury on Sunday 13th October, the Westbury branch of the Royal British Legion laid up their old standard and dedicated a new one.
Rev Jonathan Burke conducted the service, and Alan Williams the Westbury standard bearer was supported by standard bearers from Potterne, Tidworth, Swindon, Corsham and Devizes.
Mary Kneen, Chairman of Westbury British Legion said, “Parade Marshall Alan Smith ensured it all went smoothly. We welcomed around 25 people in the congregation.
“It was a very nice service and a bugler sounded the Last Post and a silence was observed in memory of those fallen.
“We would like to thank all who attended, especially as the weather was wet. A special thank you to Doris and Mary who kindly gave their time to serve refreshments after the service.”
