
LOCAL athlete, Diane Hier, battled record temperatures on Sunday to complete her 15th London Marathon.
Joining over 40,000 other runners, Diane ran in what was officially the hottest London Marathon on record with temperatures of 24.1C (75.3F) recorded in St James’s Park.
Diane said, “The atmosphere was incredible with even more spectators around the course.
“The unexpected heatwave helped towards a very tough event but I was pleased to finish in 3 hours 38 minutes.”
