Edington Parish Hall hosted a ‘Pumpkin Day’ recently. Villagers entered carved pumpkins into various competition categories, including; best carved (overall) best decorated, under/over 10s, best painted as well as a family effort!
Tea, coffee and pumpkin refreshments were on sale, including various soups, pies and cakes, some of which had also been entered into competitions. Money raised will go back into the pot to support other village activities.
In the marquee outside the hall, apple bobbing took place alongside a hard-fought conkers match, which went through five rounds! The event was brought to a close by the children taking turns to beat a sweet-filled piñata and then posing for a photograph in front of the winner of the ‘biggest pumpkin’ category!
Thanks go to Liz Pike, Vanessa Lescott, Tracy and Paul Miller, James Wright and Helen Rowe for all their help.
