IT has been a bright month for go-karting prodigy Enzo Toms who has been fundraising and receiving new sponsorship.
Six-year-old Enzo cannot officially race until he is eight, but it’s not stopping him making a name for himself.
At the beginning of August Enzo had a helmet signed by riders at the British Superbikes Championship at Thruxton Circuit. He then donated the helmet to the family of British motorbike racer Simon Andrews, who died in May this year.
Enzo said, “I just hope the family like it. I had a message from Simon’s father saying thank you, which really meant a lot because me and my dad were big fans of Simon and still miss him.”
Another signed helmet from the British Touring Car Championships was auctioned off by Enzo’s karting club, and raised £600 for the Dorset & Hampshire Air Ambulance.
His karting in the ‘bambino’ pre-race training sessions continues to improve, and he was involved by invitation with the opening of the Castle Street soap box derby in Trowbridge this month. Enzo has had increasing support from businesses; he is now supported by ProTyre of Westbury, and will soon have his helmet painted by motorsport artist Graffix Unlimited. He is also currently sponsored by Swansea-based companies M & P Direct, and CRG Racing UK.
