The Bratton Church Institute has celebrated people in the village who give up their time for good causes.
It marked Village Halls Week, launched by Action with Communities in Rural England (ACRE) with a focus on ‘volunteers’ for 2025, with a well-attended event last month to highlight the difference being made in the community.
Gill Humphrey, chair of the Bratton Church Institute Committee, said, “We served tea, coffee and delicious cakes at tables decorated with vases of spring flowers, alongside a Table Top Sale and a raffle.
“There were three screens displaying photos of the various projects and activities our volunteers have engaged with over the past year within St James Church and The Church Institute.
“The soup kitchen opened at 12pm and served four different varieties of homemade soup with fresh bread and croutons.
“Our collection of toiletries and cleaning products for the Warminster Food Bank received a great response again and was well supported, as in previous years. The food bank is very grateful for your donations, so thank you.”
