WESTBURY Town Council has shown its support to the local LGBTQ+ community by flying the Pride flag outside The Laverton for Pride Month this June.
“Westbury Town Council aims for inclusivity, to serve and support all local residents, and in Pride Month we’re proud to be flying the flag for members of the LGBTQ+ community in our town and beyond,” said the council. Pride Month began after the Stonewall riots, a series of gay liberation protests in 1969 in the United States, and has since spread to other countries.
