BRATTON Toddlers Group recently held a Halloween fundraising party, which was hailed a ‘blinding success’ by organisers.
The group, who meet twice a week at the Pavilion, held the spooky shindig to raise funds for the group after recent months have seen numbers falling. Activities included a potion station pic ‘n’ mix, pumpkin treasure hunt, face painting, and other Halloween-themed games.
Organiser Lou Duggan said, “It was a really successful day and the children had a great time! There was lots for them to do and the witches’ cafe had plenty of cake for the parents.
“The event caught a lot of people’s attention and was busy throughout the day. We’re near the school, too, and quite a few older children came and joined in with the treasure hunt.
“We managed to raise £45 from the party, which will be added to other generous donations and funds raised over the summer. The money pays for our insurance, new toys and bulk craft resources, and some will go towards our Christmas party.
“Fundraising is necessary to ensure the survival of our service, but it’s a lot of fun for the children and parents too!”
Bratton Toddlers Group is a parent-run service held for children and babies up to school age, and meets every Wednesday and Friday from 10am-12pm at the Pavilion. The children get involved with crafts, activities, and singing songs, and there is free coffee and cake for parents and guardians. To find out more call Lesley on 01380 831240.
