TWO young friends from Westbury are launching a campaign to combat the problem of litter in Westbury.
Annabel Cunningham and Abigail Rose believe litter is a major problem in the town and have a few ideas on how to tackle the issue.
Annabel said, “Just today, we picked up 999g of litter just from Westbury Leigh. Because of this, we have decided to launch a campaign to improve our town’s appearance.
“Some things that could be done to make Westbury look better are picking up litter, providing more bins and cleaning up graffiti and getting the council involved.
“We are trying to raise awareness of the damaging effect litter has on our local community. We believe one small thing to make something look bad can have the effect of making others believe they do not need to care for that place, thus making the situation worse.
“We hope to attract the interest of the local community and the council through the White Horse News.”
