WESTBURY Heritage Society, who operate the town’s museum in the library, is hosting its annual general meeting on Tuesday 29th November at 7.30pm at the Methodist Church in Station Road – and everyone is invited.
Mince pies and hot drinks will be served up when the Heritage Society takes stock of its first full year in its new premises.
The event will give an opportunity to look at the past year’s activities from the numbers of visitors through to the varied talks, walks and events that have been staged.
It will also be an opportunity to thank the team of invaluable volunteers who staff the museum four days each week.
“It’s been a brilliant year and we couldn’t have done it without our team of supporters and volunteers who have helped stage a wide range of local history exhibitions from the Westbury pliosaur through to Remembrance,” said society chair Sally Hendry who is hoping to recruit even more people to the team.
Volunteers are not just needed to staff the museum but also to help with a wide variety of tasks from caring for the museum’s collection, storage, record keeping and research. The AGM will feature everything from a report of the year’s events through to financial reports and future plans.
The museum opening times are: Mondays 2pm to 7pm, Tuesdays and Fridays 9.30am to 5pm and Saturdays 9.30am to 1pm.
