YOUNG gymnast Logan Morgan, from Westbury, has won 17 competition medals and 2 trophies despite only taking up gymnastics less than a year ago.
Seven-year old Logan, who trains at West Wilts Gymnastics, won three gold and three silver medals during his latest competition in Basingstoke last month.
During this six-piece apparatus competition he placed first and second out of 17 boys.
These medals can now be added to the other five golds, five silvers and one bronze Logan has won during four previous competitions, local and regional.
Kady Morgan, Logan’s mother said, “Logan enjoys his floor routines the most and he also likes the rings but also competes in high bar, parallel bars, vault and pommel.
“I’m so proud of Logan! When I first signed him up for gymnastics, just 11 months ago, I never thought he would be competing in competitions and winning them.
“I just wanted him to have a hobby but he’s achieved so much over these months, he’s put in a lot of time and effort, training for approximately eight hours a week.
“If it wasn’t for his nanny and grampy, Logan wouldn’t be able to do gym as they pay for it and take him to training and competitions etc. His gym coach, Lukasz, has been amazing with Logan, he’s really encouraged him and seen his potential, which has made Logan more confident.
“Gymnastics isn’t a sport that many boys participate in, it’s mostly associated with girls, but West Wilts Gymnastics have an amazing, but small, boys squad and I am honoured and proud that my son is part of it.”
