Garden salon is a cut above the rest

LOCAL hairdresser Karen Ashton of Pondside Garden Hair Salon has been cutting the hair of Westbury residents for the past three years and says she gets a “real buzz” out of seeing people leave the salon happy with their new hair.

Karen operates out of a quiet, tranquil and relaxing purpose-built salon in her garden and she caters to men, women and children with cuts at an affordable rate. She began her hairdressing journey 24 years ago when she started an evening class at a hair salon having wanted to be a hairdresser since leaving school.

Karen said, “I did mobile hairdressing for a while and five years ago I went back to college, retrained and gained my Level 2 and 3 qualifications, while doing some work at a Chippenham salon.

“Following this I had my salon built in my garden in 2020 and I gradually gained regular customers, offering one-to-one appointments for ladies, men and children with reasonable prices for cuts, colouring, highlights, perms and more, in a pleasant garden setting. I love what I do, and I get a real buzz out of seeing people leave happy with their new hairstyle!”
