THE Westbury Folk Dance Club is starting their evening dances again, with a dance night on Thursday 15th September.
Club nights are Thursdays 7.30 -9.30pm and are held at the Westbury Leigh Community Hall. Admission is £2.50 for visitors. A partner is not needed, nor any experience, as you can learn as you go along.
Organisers say, “Folk Dancing or Country dancing as many know it by, has been taking place in Westbury Leigh for over 40 years and many think it a very enjoyable pastime. The Westbury Leigh Community Hall has a really lovely sprung dance floor and there is a car park in front of the church.
“Dancing can be as energetic as you like to make it and indeed the Playford type of dancing that is often seen in period dramas on TV is quite slow, but the traditional country dancing is also in the programme.
“Saturday dances are held occasionally, when a band and caller and dancers from all over the county attend.”
Anyone interested can come along on the night or call Ann on 01225 776766 for any further information.
