The Sun has released their article for the Best of British Awards and GripIt Fixing – run by Westbury businessman Jordan Daykin came 15th place.
“It was exciting to scroll though the list to find in 15th place was GripIt Fixings. It’s such a great achievement for the team and to be in a list with such big companies such as Tesco, Premier Inn, Barclays. The list shows that you don’t need to be a massive company in order to gain recognition.” said Jordan.
GripIt was seen on Dragons’ Den back in 2014 when Jordan was just 18 years-old. The company was already being sold in 500 stores across the UK including ScrewFix, Plum-base and Build-base. but Jordan wanted to take it that little bit further.
When in the Den Jordan was successful in gaining an £80,000 investment for a 25% stake from Deborah Meaden; they now have a great working relationship together with a company that is worth £14 million.
GripIt is going from strength to strength, to now being stocked in over 5,000 stores across the UK supporting independent stores and being in names like B&Q, Wickes, ScrewFix, Travis Perkins, CEF, Edmundson Electrical, YESSS Electrical, Buildbase, Plumbase, Jewson’s, Maplin’s, Curry’s, and exported to 32 countries.
GripIt has just been released in South Africa and will shortly be launching in the USA stocking in the one of their largest DIY stores, Home Depot. They will also be stocked in Bunnings in Australia and New Zealand in December.
Jordan added, “The team has expanded rapidly from having five staff at the beginning to now having a team of just under 30, and this shows how far we have come. They have worked so hard over the past couple of busy months and being on the Best of British list just proves it.”
