Bratton Parish Council is holding a public consultation on its Draft Neighbourhood Development Plan and is inviting residents to have their say.
A Neighbourhood Plan is a community-led document that guides future building and development in a local area, giving communities more control over the future of their area.
The draft plan will be available to view on the council’s website from 29th July and the consultation period will run for eight weeks.
The Neighbourhood Plan steering group will also be hosting two drop-in events to answer any questions and to receive comments about the plan. These will take place in Bratton Jubilee Hall on Tuesday 6th August between 4pm and 8pm and on Saturday 17th August between 11am and 4pm.
The draft plan has been seven years in the making, with countless hours of work and numerous village consultations.
Bratton Parish chairman, Councillor Keith Rayward, said, “It is all coming together very well and we hope that the members of our parish will be pleased with it. We have done our utmost to respect their wishes.
“We are very blessed in that our village has taken an active interest in this project and it is for this reason that the team looks forward to seeing everyone in the Jubilee Hall next month.” Cllr Rayward said. “Kind villagers will be creating their usual delicious cakes for the events. If they can’t entice people in, then no one can!”
There will be slide shows on the Parish website featuring key sections. These will be made up, in the main, of photographs and will not include the technical details encompassed in the plan.
