Historian Liz Argent is planning to take us back to what could have been the happiest days of our lives…our schooldays.
Former teacher Liz has researched education in Westbury from the time when benefactors left sums of money to open free schools in the town and absenteeism was an issue when children truanted to help with the harvest.
Her talk on Tuesday March 26 at the Methodist church in Station Road will give a potted history of education in Westbury along with anecdotes and illustrations, and she would welcome any personal schooldays reminiscences from people attending the talk.
