IMPERIAL Charity has announced that it will open a shop on Westbury High Street when it closes one of the Warminster Road stores later this year.
The charity, which funds and organises activities for local elderly people and those with special needs, will have to move out of its shop next door to Thai Orchid on Warminster Road when the building is sold by its owners.
The shop across the road will then take all the furniture and white goods, and a new shop will be opened on the High Street to sell clothing, toys, books and bric-a-brac.
Charity president David McCance and business manager Bob Summerfield say they are confident the shop will succeed, in spite of competition from other charity shops in the town.
Bob said, “We believe people will continue to support their local charity knowing that all funds raised are put back into worthy causes in Wiltshire and Frome by way of Imperial’s worthy causes.
“We have also been extremely fortunate in acquiring an experienced shop manager to set us up on the right path. We will confirm the shop’s opening date soon, but in the meantime donations will be accepted at the Warminster Road shop or can be collected.”
To contact the charity or to arrange a donation or collection, call the shop on 01373 826826.
Imperial Charity had one of its busiest ever years in 2015, providing numerous entertainment sessions, coach trips and donations to local special needs schools. To find out more about Imperial’s work and upcoming events online at www.imperialcharity.co.uk
