Westbury’s new Morrisons store is set to open its doors to the public for the first time at 9.00am on Monday, 7th September.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony will mark the opening of the new supermarket, which has replaced Coopers in the town centre.
Trowbridge resident Paul Smith has been named as the manager of the new store. The Warminster-raised manager started as a produce assistant and has worked his way up through the ranks to management, having served as deputy store manager in Morrisons Devizes, Wincanton and Bristol Hartcliffe stores.
Paul said, “I am delighted to be managing the Westbury store and can’t wait to bring Morrisons’ great value fresh food to the town.
“We’re really busy getting the store ready for opening day, fitting out the fresh food counters and ensuring that all staff are fully trained and ready to serve our first customers. I can’t wait to open the doors to our first customers.”
The store’s bakery ovens were being tested on Friday, in preparation for the opening, and the bread that was baked during the test was donated to local care homes, Watersmead and Abbeyfield.
