LOCAL cyclists Ed Coleman and Julian Morris are gearing up for their ‘Long Neigh Up’.
The duo will commence their ride from Land’s End to John O’Groats on the 8th of July, to raise money for two charities they feel passionately about.
Ed and Julian are not the only ones training hard. Staff and students from Matravers, members of Westbury Wheelers, and a representative from Westbury Lions club will all be supporting Ed and Julian by joining them on their ride as they approach Westbury.
The 900-mile cycle ride is being completely self-funded so every penny raised will go directly to Macmillan Cancer Support and Spinal Research. This enormous fund-raising cycle challenge is largely motivated by ill health and misfortune which struck those close to the two riders.
Macmillan Cancer Support provided support and comfort to close friend and fellow cyclist Shaun Player, who died in April after his long-term battle with kidney cancer. The duo are also raising money for Spinal Research, after being moved by the death of Sam Puttick and the family tragedy last year.
