Wiltshire Council has commenced consultation on leisure facilities in the county.
The council has been carrying out a review of its leisure facilities, and is now proposing that Westbury should step forward and run both the town’s swimming pool and recreation centre through community ownership.
A questionnaire is available at council offices, libraries and leisure centres and online, or comments can be e-mailed to leisureconsultation@wiltshire.gov.uk. More about the consultation can be found at http://www.wiltshire.gov.uk/council/consultations.htm
The Save Westbury Pool committee is currently formulating their comments to the leisure plan, and encouraging others to do the same. They are also looking to arrange a meeting in the near future where all interested parties can come together to discuss the future of the pool and recreation centre.
