THE first part of a dramatic trilogy has been released by a local author.
Hector P. Cortes, who writes from his home in Westbury, recently completed the trilogy and the first book, Antichrist: the beginning, is now on sale.
In this occult thriller, the rise of a Middle East dictator is causing alarm throughout the Western World. This new ruler seems capable of supernatural powers and can change his body at will. He unites terrorists around the globe to do his bidding, but his ultimate goal is to destroy the last living descendant of Christ.
Hector says his inspiration for the book came out of nowhere. “I wish I knew where it came from!” he said. “It was just there in my imagination, I started writing and just couldn’t stop!”
In fact, Hector completed the whole series in a matter of months. “I find the writing very very easy, I’ve always had the facility and never had any problems getting my ideas,” he explained.
“It’s got some very good reviews on amazon and it’s available on all the websites.”
Before settling in Westbury, Hector worked in Spain, Austria, France, Italy and the UK as a musician. He has been honoured by the College of Music in which he studied, being given the Honorary Fellowship of the London College of Music for “Distinguished Services to the Art of Music”. He was also invested a Knight of the Military Order of the Temple of Jerusalem for the same reason, and is now a Knight Commander (Templars).
Hector is already a published author, and although he started writing many years ago it was when he retired and moved to Westbury seven years ago that he really started writing in earnest. “When I moved to Westbury I retired from music and went for it full time.” he said. “It’s so peaceful over here and being retired certainly helps!” His work also includes short stories for children, and his daughter Daniella edits his books.
Antichrist: The beginning is available online from retailers including Amazon, WH Smith, Barnes and Noble, and Waterstones.
Hector, who was born in Gibraltar and lived there for many years, is now working on his next novel about post-civil war Spain.
