A WESTBURY man is preparing to take on a mountainous challenge in aid of Help for Heroes.
Chris Bew will be one of a team of 15 adventurers walking the 100 miles from Glasgow to the summit of Ben Nevis
To make the challenge even harder they will be undertaking the task in the Scottish winter at the end of this month.
The team of production crew includes 12 riggers, one unit manager, one camera supervisor, and two police officers.
Chris said, “It all started last year when a few of us were discussing general walks and getting fit and a couple of chaps took it a stage forward and it all progressed from there!
“I’ve not really done anything like this before, I’ve put money in boxes but that’s as far as it goes!
“I’m looking forward to it, it’s a great bunch of blokes although the weather is going to be interesting – we’re expecting snow up Ben Nevis.”
Starting at 5.30am on the 28th November, it will take the team six days to reach the summit of the highest mountain in the British Isles, conquering a height of 1,344m (4,409 ft).
More about the challenge can be found at www.bmycharity.com/highlands4heroes, where you can sponsor the team. The challenge has already raised £4,787.41 and hopes to continue to bring in the donations in the run up to embarking on their challenge.
Etc.Etc. in White Hart Yard, Trowbridge (in the cut through between WH Smith and the Town Hall) are also collecting for the challenge for those who cannot donate online.
