FOR the second year, Matravers’ Christmas Concert was held in All Saints Church and was deemed a great success.
The concert on Wednesday 15th December featured a wide range of musical talent from all year groups. Among items on show were soloists, both the junior and senior steel pan group, the school choir, gospel choir, and even a staff choir.
Liz Oliver, head of music at Matravers said, “It was a really good concert, it was nice because we had eleven year-olds to eighteen year-olds taking part. The kids put in a lot of effort and the church was packed – it was very well attended.
“We held it at All Saints Church, it’s the second year we’ve done it there, and it’s lovely because the Christmas Tree Festival is on at the same time.”
Pupils at Matravers are now rehearsing for their annual production in February, where they will be performing the musical ‘Grease’.
