THE date of the by-election for the Laverton ward of Westbury Town Council has been set for the 17th February.
The election will be used to fill two vacancies on the Laverton ward. The election was called following the resignation of Adam Berrisford. However since then, Georgie Denison-Pender, also of the Laverton ward, has resigned as well.
For each seat, 10 electors were required to make a request for an election, a requirement that has been fulfilled.
Nomination packs can be obtained from the town clerk or from Wiltshire Electoral Services. Nomination papers must be delivered to the Returning Officer, Wiltshire Electoral Services, Monkton Park, Chippenham, Wiltshire, SN15 1ER during office hours Monday to Friday. The deadline for nominations is noon on the 21st January.
Applications for postal and postal proxy votes must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Wiltshire Electoral Services, Monkton Park, Chippenham, Wiltshire, SN15 1ER by 5pm on Wed-nesday, 2nd February 2011.
