THIS week is your last chance to make your nominations for Westbury’s Person of the Year 2010 competition.
The deadline for nominations is Monday 24th January, and the nominees will be published in the next issue of the White Horse News.
The competition, run by the White Horse News, will recognise a resident who has made a real contribution to the community in 2010. Westbury has many individuals who work hard throughout the year to help other people, improve their town, and raise money for charity. Perhaps your nominee has shown acts of bravery, or offered voluntary services which have benefitted the local community.
People are being asked to put forward their Person of the Year 2010 nominations, the only condition being that the person is from Westbury or one of the surrounding villages or works in the town.
Ian Drew, editor of the White Horse News said, “This is a chance to nominate someone who deserves recognition for their outstanding actions in Westbury over the past year or who has had the biggest impact on life in the town.”
Nominations can be made by filling out the form inside this week’s paper and returning it to White Horse News, 31 Market Place, Melksham, Wilts. SN12 6ES
Alternatively email your nominations to whitehorse news@btconnect.com stating your name, address and contact number with your nominee’s name and why you are nominating them. (We won’t disclose who has made the nominations).
After a close contest, Westbury’s Person of the Year 2009 went to Henry Leigh, founder of the Belarussian Ray of Hope, a charity that works to alleviate the suffering of disabled children in areas affected by the Chernobyl nuclear disaster.
