CLUB Ice has enjoyed a successful re-opening after some extensive renovations to modernise the venue.
The first weekend in October saw the relaunch of the nightspot, with a VIP night on Friday 2nd October, and the club night Complex on Saturday 3rd October.
Barrie White, Club Ice’s operations director said, “It was fantastic, everything went to plan really. Saturday night was jammed, we had around 1,200 to 1,300 people here and it was one-in one-out at one point.”
The club has seen a complete refurbishment of the VIP area, installation of a new dancefloor, and the addition of a food court in the garden, as well as various other touches.
Barrie said, “We had no negative responses from the customers really so that’s what we like to hear. We’re now moving on to the second phase, the refurbishment of the urban room.”
The ongoing refurbishment project will see the renovation of the club’s second largest room, which plays urban music on a Saturday night, which will be opening on Saturday 10th October.
So far Barrie is delighted with how the revamp, the first in six years at Club Ice, has gone. “I’m absolutely over the moon,” he said. “I can’t complain one bit.”
Barrie added that there has already been a lot of interest in the forthcoming visit of former Hollyoaks hunk and Dancing On Ice runner-up Chris Fountain. Chris, who played Justin Burton in the teen soap until earlier this year, will be at Club Ice on Saturday 17th October.
Barrie said, “There’s been a lot of interest so far, people are going mad already.”
