A WESTBURY cyclist has raised £2,000 for charity with a marathon cycling challenge – cycling from John O’Groats to Land’s End.
Julian Dagger used the challenge to raise money for Kidney Research UK and Bath RUH’s Intensive Care Unit, in memory of two people very close to him.
Julian said, “I am pleased to report that I completed the ride in 13 and a half days, finishing on 22nd April, to be met by a huge gathering of friends and family at Land’s End, to my surprise and pleasure. Overall, I raised £2,000. for charity. This was split equally between the ITU at Bath RUH in memory of our family friend Derek New, and Kidney Research UK in memory of my late mum.
“I would like to thank all of my friends and family and to my colleagues at BLB Solicitors for their astonishing support and kindness throughout the ride. A particular thank you must go to my wife Judith, who acted as my support crew during the ride, keeping me fed and watered all day, and providing much needed words of encouragement.
“It has been a life changing experience which I will never forget.”
