EUROPE’S largest manufacturer of paper bags, Welton, Bibby & Baron, will be moving their factory to Westbury.
The company, which is currently based in Midsomer Norton, Somerset, plans to move to Westbury in the next 18 months. The company says it hopes to move its workforce of 300 people to the new factory in Westbury.
Malcolm Ross, Managing Director of Welton Bibby & Baron said, “The new site will accommodate all of the existing manufacturing equipment, leaving room for future investment and on-site warehousing.
“All jobs are secure and the move is expected to take place over the next 18 months.”
Welton, Bibby, & Baron supply well over a billion paper bags every year to customers all over the world, including retail and point-of sale bags, heat sealed and protective bags, fast food and take-away bags, pharmacy bags, bread bags, and pet food bags. Their customers include John Lewis, Marks and Spencers, PG Tips, and Typhoo.
