A WIND farm could be on its way to land near West Ashton.
REG Windpower are looking at the Grange Farm site in Bratton Road, which could house three turbines with a height of up to 130 metres.
The company recently submitted a planning application for a meteorological monitoring mast to Wiltshire Council, which will allow them to gather information to ascertain if the site is viable.
Rob Fellows, who is dealing with the PR for REG Windpower, said, “This is in very very early stages. At the moment we have very little information to give people – we will be looking at starting a public consultation in the autumn when we have some information that people can base decisions on.
“There is no exact timescale for the project – we’re at such an early stage with it. We could be looking at three turbines, with a tip height of up to 130m – that’s the maximum. The output will depend on many factors, but three turbines would certainly make a significant contribution.”
REG Windpower currently have ten wind farms across the country, with another 11 awaiting construction or planning permission.
