A NEW coffee shop and wine bar is on its way to Westbury, promising to bring a new and comfortable place to relax during the day and evenings.
“Suave”, which will be located in the former Top Gun and Rod premises in Warminster Road, will be run by Shelly and Nick Sperring, who are already well-known as Westbury Building Services.
Shelly explained, “What we’re going to do is open at half nine, ten o’clock for the coffee shop, serving up drinks, light snacks, homemade cakes, and sandwiches.
“In the evening we’ll be a wine bar. We’re not going to do meals – we’ve already got the Chinese and Indian restaurants up here – so we’ll stick to bread boards, olives, and other bits and pieces like that in the evening.
“In Westbury we’ve struggled to find anywhere to go out for a civilized drink so we’ve ordered things like leather sofas and bucket sofas and just want to make it into somewhere nice to go and chill out. I want it to be nice, but not somewhere that’s going to outprice everyone.”
Nick and Shelly have submitted a planning application for change of use to Wiltshire Council. Westbury Town Council has offered no objections to the application, and a decision is expected in November.
