A VACANCY has arisen on the town council after Dorian Jones resigned last week. Dorian Jones, who has been a representative for the Laverton ward for the past three and a half years, said that he made the decision to resign because of his business commitments with a “heavy heart”.He said, “After much much debate I decided I’ve got no option, I cannot juggle my business life with what is required to be a town councillor.”Ten electors from the ward must now request a by-election to take place. If this is achieved, a date for a by-election will then be set. If not, a new councillor will be co-opted.
