LOCAL artist Jeff Murray walked away from the World Art Dubai exhibition with the award for Best International Solo Artist.
Jeff, who has lived in Westbury for two and a half years said, “I had no idea that I was nominated. It was very unexpected and well received.”
This is one of four awards that Jeff has won in his career as an artist, which has taken him all over the world. He explained, “Travel is the biggest inspiration for my art. Seeking out new cultures, meeting the people and exploring the landscapes, helps me to shape my style of work.
“New York is my favourite city and Hong Kong has been the place where my art has been best received.”
When he is not travelling, Jeff can be found on his market stall in Bath displaying and selling his art. Jeff said, “I started selling my art five years ago at markets and on artisan stalls. It’s a great way to show my art to people.”
But you will need to be quick to catch him as his art will be taking him off around the world again with stops in Russia, Portugal, Hong Kong and Japan all planned throughout 2017.
