WESTBURY Town Council has presented almost £12,000 in grants to local groups and organisations recently.
Each year the council budgets for an amount to be distributed to various causes that benefit the local community, and considers applications from local organisations. The grants were presented to representatives from the groups at a presentation evening at the Laverton on Wednesday 30th January.
Westbury mayor, cllr Sue Ezra said, “Organisations have to state what they’d like the funds for and meet a criteria. I know many would have liked more, but we’ve only got so much and we do try and spread it around and cover all the age groups, from youngsters right up to those of more mature years.”
