The Matravers Prom was held at Cumberwell Park on Monday 29th June. The evening finished with a spectacular surprise firework display.
Matravers’ pastoral manager, Nicki Dovey said, “The class of 2015 Prom for Matravers was held at Cumberwell Park and brought to a close the celebratory last day for the year 11 students.
“The day began with bacon rolls and shirt signing and then an assembly to mark the outstanding achievements across the year group.
“The evening saw the grand arrival of the students to the red carpet casino-themed event. Pupils were greeted by staff and were offered a fruit punch cocktail on arrival. During the evening the pupils had the opportunity to play roulette, black jack and poker with ‘Matravers money’ and dance to the sounds of the disco.
“A finger buffet was also enjoyed in the evening whilst the prom committee gave out their ‘Prom Awards.’
“The evening was rounded off by a spectacular fireworks display which had been kept a surprise from all the pupils and most of the staff.”
