PUPILS returning to Matravers School when it reopens after lockdown will benefit from a £4,000 grant towards supporting their mental health and wellbeing.
Westbury secondary school’s application to Westbury Area Board was unanimously approved by members who heard the funds would ensure its mental health offer reached students who needed it.
Cllr Suzanne Wickham, who has been working on the application with Wiltshire Council’s community engagement manager, Graeme Morrison, told board members, “I think we are all aware of the anxieties and the difficulties of this current situation, for over a year now, and the effect it has had on all sorts of people, and no less those at the school.”
Cllr Wickham recommended approval, seconded by cllr Gordon King.
