The nail-biting wait is over for nervous Matravers students, who received their GCSE results earlier this month and it’s another successful year for the school.
Staff at the school say they are extremely proud with another set of ‘superb’ GCSE results and have praised the students for their hard work.
59% of students achieved A*-C, an improvement of 4% from last year’s figures.
Headteacher, Dr Simon Riding said, “We are delighted to report significant continued improvements within our GCSE results. Our best English and maths A*-C of at least 59%, our Ebacc attainment continues to be above national average with more students than ever attaining A*-C in this suite of subjects, and our Attainment 8 score is at least at national average, which should ensure a continued successful Progress 8 score when this is realised by the Department For Education in October.”
Individual success stories came from Georgie Goff 8 A*/A, Shannon Murray 8A*/A, Shannon Nash 8A*/A, Callum Langley 7 A*/A, Joe Medway 7 A*/A and Alaina Daborn 6A*/A.
Dr. Riding added, “These superb results have enabled our students to gain places at our own excellent oversubscribed sixth form for September.
“I am sure you will join me in warmly congratulating the students for their dedication and commitment, parents for their support and their teachers for all their hard work.”
