MEMBERS of the Bratton Church Institute (BCI) recently opened a new tarmac path to make access easier for wheelchair users and prams.
Local people came to the BCI on Monday 8th May for the ceremonial opening of the path and to take part in a ‘coronation tea bags’ event which raised funds for the new roof at St James’ Church.
Joan Martin from the BCI team said, “Over the coronation weekend we officially opened a new tarmac path that will make access easier for wheelchair and pram users. The path was opened by one of our sponsors, Rosemarie Gale, and the Coronation Path (named after our new monarch) was completed by the Ross Hilman team who did a beautiful job.
“In the afternoon we enjoyed a lovely coronation tea of cakes, sandwiches and tea supplied by the teabag team with patriotic music on the piano by Debbie Bailey. Some of the funds raised will be going towards the new church roof.”
