A pet food bank has been set up in town and the organiser is asking anyone in the Westbury and Warminster area that may be struggling to feed their pets to get in touch.
The food bank can be found on Facebook by searching Westbury Pet Food Bank. The organiser, Jo Robinson, has asked for people to message the Facebook page directly and answer some basic questions about your pet(s) and she will provide pet food depending on stock availability.
Jo says, “I will ask the individual what their pet eats (wet or dry food) and how many pets they have, so I can work out how much to give them. This is open to anyone who may be struggling financially and as a result may be finding it difficult to feed their pets, and anyone can message the Facebook page directly.”
Alternatively, you can email robinsonjo554@gmail.com.
Donations welcome
If you would like to donate any pet food to the food bank, please use the drop-off point at Davies and Davies estate agents.
Jo added, “We accept dry food, biscuits, tinned food, pet bedding, and anything animal-related. If your pet doesn’t like the food or treats you’ve bought, we can give them to a pet who needs it. People have also bought things from Amazon and sent it directly to me – contact the page if this is of interest.”
The nearest alternative pet food bank to Westbury can be found in Trowbridge and was set up by Jo’s friend, Sam Hadley, and can be found by searching Trowbridge and surrounding area pet food bank.
