A brand-new fitness pilates class has launched in Dilton Marsh, bringing movement, exercise and a warm welcome to the local community.
Held in the picturesque Memorial Hall, the class offers a fresh and inclusive approach to fitness, tailored to suit a wide range of ages and abilities.
The class is led by local instructor Michelle Alden, a qualified fitness pilates teacher with a special focus on older adult fitness. Michelle also has expertise in exercise for those living with Parkinson’s and chair-based exercise, allowing her to adapt sessions to meet a variety of individual needs – all within the same class.
“Fitness pilates is great for improving strength and alignment, which helps with balance,” said Michelle. “It also works on flexibility and improves bone and muscle function if practiced regularly.
“It differs from some other versions of pilates, in that it has a modern approach, taking the original concepts and bringing them up to date with modern training principles. It’s also done to music and that makes the hour just slip away!
“Whether you’ve been a hundred times, or never been before, you will see the benefits from this class, even at a gentle level.”
