CHILDREN and staff at Bratton Primary School recently raised money for the NSPCC by taking part in a maths inspired fundraiser called Number Day on Friday 3rd February.
Pupils and staff across the school came in wearing maths and number related costumes to raise the profile of maths in school as well as to raise funds for the NSPCC that will go towards vital services such as Speak Out Stay Safe and Childline.
A school spokesperson said, “We saw such a wonderful collection of costumes, homemade t-shirts, and wacky items; it was a joy to see such creativity across the whole school community! The children all took part in various maths related activities and completed a whole school maths problem-solving challenge which showed great teamwork, resilience, and logic.
“The morning kicked off with a whole school assembly for everyone to enjoy and appreciate the various outfits across the classes. In addition to raising the profile of maths, it was also a wonderful way to raise fund for the NSPCC, with families and staff making donations.
“Number Day is something that the children and staff always look forward to each year. It gives the children the opportunity to apply their maths skills to everyday scenarios, whilst raising money for such a fantastic cause.”
