WESTBURY Town Council held its annual grants awards evening last month, when nearly £12,000 was presented to a number of local groups, clubs and charities.
At the event at the Laverton on Wednesday 27th January, grants totalling £11,635 – an average of around £270 each – were issued to 43 local organisations.
Recipients included the Scouts and Guides groups, sports clubs including Westbury United FC, Westbury RFC, and the West Wilts Sailing Club, plus numerous other local charities, hobby groups, support groups, and organisations.
A representative from each organisation collected their cheque and gave a brief outline as to how the money would be spent. Details of many of Westbury’s groups, clubs and societies can be found on the town council’s website www.westburytowncouncil.gov.uk
